THE FLAYED MAN Graphite on Paper 60" x 28" La Specola, a wax museum in Florence, Italy, directly inspired the Flayed Man. La Specola displays the human body in stages of dissection and groupings of body systems for medical edification. The Flayed Man developed from the study of a wax model portraying the muscular and vascular systems. The drawing is a way for me to explore and internalize the complexity of the human body. |
